Is a radiator guard worth spending my money on?
Yes, for the simple reason an EP Radiator Guard costs a lot less money than a replacement radiator by protecting the Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC radiator against damage caused by road and off-road debris, while allowing cooling air to pass through. The Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC radiator consists of aluminium cooling fins and internal core containing pumped coolant - the fins easily bend and can block the passage of air, which could lead to the engine overheating. Also, the core can be holed by debris, such as a stone. This is usually the result of debris being picked up by the bike's front tyre or a bike / car in front and flung directly into the radiator. A holed radiator will cause overheating, and if leaking coolant gets on to the bike's tyres it could cause sudden loss of grip.
