Vertex piston pins are typically made of alloy steel with a case-hardening treatment. Standard pistons and components are interchangeable with the respective OEM products. All pistons are heat-treated to a T5 or T6 hardening cycle. To aid break-in and reduce wear, every Vertex piston features a molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) coating on the entire piston body.

Vertex Pistons for 4-Stroke Engines

Four-stroke engines have much higher cylinder pressures than two-stroke engines; pistons are generally produced by hot forging.

Vertex pistons for 4-stroke engines are hot forged from 2618 aircraft-grade alloy, a premium product that guarantees superior strength and durability.
