Radiator protection from what?

EP Radiator Guards protect a bike’s radiator from damage caused by road debris (stones etc), whether on or off-road. At the same time, they allow the required cooling air to pass through to the radiator. A radiator consists externally of delicate cooling fins that easily bend especially by surface dirt, stones and even surface water. If they get too out of shape the passing airflow is blocked, which can result in the R 1250 GS Adventure TE running hot. The radiator’s internal coolant core is also fragile and prone to being holed by stones, which are usually fired directly into the radiator from the bike’s front tyre or other traffic. Leaking coolant will make the motorcycle inoperable because of overheating, which could also result in expensive engine damage on top of the cost for a replacement radiator.
