The upper chain guard is a component that combines function and looks: it shields the top of the drivetrain, protecting your leg and the bodywork from contact and from the dirt and grease thrown up by the chain. As standard, though, it's made of plastic — a material that looks out of place on a well-finished bike and that tends to yellow and go dull over time.

The CNC Racing Chain Guard replaces it with a component in real plain-weave carbon fibre, available in a glossy (ZA996K) or matte (ZA996Y) finish to suit any build. Carbon not only lifts the look of the rear end — one of the most photographed areas of the Multistrada — but is also lighter and more stable over time than the original plastic.

Fitting is immediate: it installs as a direct replacement for the original, with no modifications, using the standard fixing points. A high-visual-impact upgrade that coordinates naturally with the bike's other carbon components (rear mudguard, heel guards, lower and front chain guards from the same range).
